Fool Shrinking Experiment: Part 1

Before : After
So as many, if not all, of you know I have been trying to lose weight for about 20 years but have only actually made some progress in the past few months.  I signed up for a so called Biggest Loser program at our local leisure centre.

The course involved carefully monitoring calories and organised exercise twice a week.  We had two groups and two different trainers.  I was in a group with an imported English trainer named Conrad, a young overly fit guy from Manchester.

The first night we took 'before' pictures and had a bunch of measurements taken and then the exercising began.  So as you'd expect the exercise started out light and got progressively harder as the weeks went on.  We also started using a website/app to keep track of our food and exercise it's called MyFitnessPal if you're interested.

We did eight weeks of this and after really disliking it to begin with I found myself enjoying it by the end.

So enough waffle here are my results:

Starting weight 292 lbs (around 21 stone), (288 when the actual course started)
End weight 263 lbs (around 19 stone)
Starting BMI: 42.66
BMI now: 38.95
% weight loss 8.68
Inch Loss
 R Upper Arm 1.5
 Chest 4.0
 Waist 5.5
 Hips 3.0
 R Thigh 4.5
 R Calf 0.5
Total -19 inches

So as you might guess I`m very happy with the results. I won third place out of about 20 people and received a sportsbag and water bottle and I`ve signed up for the next session  This one will be tougher, 3 sessions a week, one of which is Friday 6-7am!

Thank you to everyone who supported me through this one and for everyone`s patience as I know I`m posting a lot about it.
