I knew I'd mused one!
Thanks to my other favorite Dawn for getting Dan amongst other things a very loud Thomas piano.
I'm sure I've missed someone but he loves all his presents and that's got to be worth something :)
Jacqui's turn to say thanks next.

Don't go down the wet slide I said. Don't slide down into the obvious puddle at the bottom I said.
It'll be fine I was told.

Fool Shrinking Experiment: Part 1
Before : After
So as many, if not all, of you know I have been trying to lose weight for about 20 years but have only actually made some progress in the past few months. I signed up for a so called Biggest Loser program at our local leisure centre. The course involved carefully monitoring calories and organised exercise twice a week. We had two groups and two different trainers. I was in a group with an imported English trainer named Conrad, a young overly fit guy from Manchester.
The first night we took 'before' pictures and had a bunch of measurements taken and then the exercising began. So as you'd expect the exercise started out light and got progressively harder as the weeks went on. We also started using a website/app to keep track of our food and exercise it's called MyFitnessPal if you're interested.
We did eight weeks of this and after really disliking it to begin with I found myself enjoying it by the end.
So enough waffle here are my results:
Starting weight 292 lbs (around 21 stone), (288 when the actual course started)
End weight 263 lbs (around 19 stone)
Starting BMI: 42.66
BMI now: 38.95
% weight loss 8.68
Inch Loss
R Upper Arm 1.5
Chest 4.0
Waist 5.5
Hips 3.0
R Thigh 4.5
R Calf 0.5
Total -19 inches
So as you might guess I`m very happy with the results. I won third place out of about 20 people and received a sportsbag and water bottle and I`ve signed up for the next session This one will be tougher, 3 sessions a week, one of which is Friday 6-7am!
Thank you to everyone who supported me through this one and for everyone`s patience as I know I`m posting a lot about it.

How to Enjoy a Slide by Daniel Miller
I've been meaning to put these pictures up for a while, Jacqui took them when she took him to the park recently. He's certainly gaining in confidence :)
I missed off the photo where he somersaults off the end into a handstand due to bad picture quality but I'm sure you get the idea.

Olympic relay star, only a matter of time
The enthusiasm is outstanding, the technique flawless, watch out all you athletes.
Although with the added obstacles he might excel at dog trials.
More drama with Sophia, I'm starting to think she's a bad influence :)
Edmonton we have a problem, time to check the engine Dan!
This thing's clockwork, I'm not sure I can handle the technology.
Cometh the hour cometh the man, good work engineer Dan.
Drama at Parent's Place
Chilling at Parent's Place with Sophia.
I didn't do anything he fell! See if you can get that thing started Sophia.
Crap, this is taking too long, you hide the body I'm off!

Biggest Bearded Loser
For those of you that don't know I have just started a fitness course at the local leisure centre. It's loosely based on the Biggest Loser tv show. Two teams, greatest % weight loss wins. They also have prizes for the top three 'losers'.
The first week has gone by pretty well. Exercise is killing me but I know it's both worthwhile and necessary. They are also using an app called MyFitnessPal, it's both an app and a website and it's probably motivating me as much as anything. It keeps track of exercise and food and adjusts for weight as well so t feels honest to me and therefore keeps me honest.
And the all important number, I've lost five pounds in my first week. I know this is not sustainable but it feels like a good start.

This is not an approved method of transportation
Let's say he wasn't convinced by the hat or harness and was remarkably quiet during the journey. We will go out again soon though.
The helmet did keep slipping down towards his eyes so I think I'll be modding it soon.
